6. The Operation of the Circle

THE OPERATION OF THE CIRCLE

The Circle operates with the help of its volunteer officers, who provide a selfless service to our community. Most questions may be answered by reading the information on this website. If anyone has any more questions, issues, or concerns, these may be brought up with the contact people.

Presiding Officer – ensures the executive operation of the Circle; posts executive positions online and appoints officers on the basis of seniority; updates and publishes an annual record of seniority; creates, shapes, and eliminates positions; covers all other executive offices by default; updates the executive and practical parts of website; maintains ads on other spiritual websites and in local spiritual magazines.

Contact People (one man, one woman) – answer any enquiries by phone or e-mail, especially those from newcomers to the Circle.

Coordinator – announces meetings via group e-mail; opens and closes the meeting-house; welcomes people; leads or initiates a communally led circle, if no one else volunteers; handles short-term arrangements with the Friends, such as a room change; as compensation, is not expected to contribute donations.

Treasurer – pays rent to the Friends and produces annual treasury report.

Keeper of the Sacred Altar – keeps in order the closet with our ceremonial items; adds others when necessary; purchases new incense and candles.

Legal Counsel – provides legal advice.

E-mail Expert – manages our group e-mail.

Website Guru – manages our website.
